AN INTERDISCIPLINARY CREATIVE WRITING PROGRAM CULMINATING IN A PODCAST
Giving children a voice to express their thoughts on present-day concerns not only make them aware and sensitive but helps them to explore various disciplines, critically think and creatively connect facts to express. And all of these together help them develop their own writing voice.
An interdisciplinary wring program on a present-day concern will help them
- Learn to absorb and use facts from various disciplines.
- Learn to weave the facts with feelings to voice their concerns and dreams.
- Learn to use effective and new words.
- Learn to thread their words in proper grammar and format.
- Discover their unique writing voice.
In this program, they will
- Craft their essay
- Learn prewriting strategies like brainstorming, freewriting, mapping, outlining, drafting, and self-editing.
- Use poetry as a language learning tool
- Build a word bank (Vocabulary)
- Script, narrate and record their podcast.
- Learn to script and edit in a new format
- Learn to develop their narration skills to engage an audience
It will culminate in a podcast series published on platforms like Spotify, Google podcast, Apple podcast, Radiopublic, Breaker.
